Beta Feature: AI‑generated search results (Quick Answers) are currently in beta and will continue to improve based on your feedback (e.g., via the thumbs-up and thumbs-down icons).
Overview
AI‑generated search helps you find answers faster by showing a direct response at the top of your search results. Instead of opening multiple articles, you’ll see a summarized answer based on the most relevant help content.
Note: It may take a few seconds for the AI‑generated answer to appear after you search.
How AI Search Works
When you search using a question, AI reviews relevant help articles and generates a clear, summarized answer for you. This answer appears above the standard list of articles.
You can still:
- Click into the articles used to find further details
- Browse additional results if needed
Note: AI‑generated answers are only based on existing help content—they summarize information that already exists within our help.
Searching Works Best with Questions
AI search works best when you type a full question or phrase instead of a single word.
Examples:
- “How do I customize giving receipts?”
- “Where do I find a QR code that links to a form?”
Pro-Tip: Writing your search as a question helps us better understand what you’re trying to do, which improves both your results and our help content over time.
Help Us Improve Quick Answers
Use the Thumbs Up or Down
After viewing an AI‑generated answer, you’ll see an option to give feedback.
- Thumbs Up: The answer was helpful
- Thumbs Down: The answer missed the mark
This feedback helps us understand what’s working and where we need to improve.
Note: Your feedback directly helps us improve AI answers and identify gaps in our help articles.
Tips for Better Search Results
If the First Answer Doesn’t Help
If you don’t get the answer you need right away, try adjusting your search:
- Add more detail: Include what you’re trying to do (for example, “remove a fund from my giving page”)
- Ask a full question: Start with “how,” “why,” or “what.”
- Use different wording: Try a synonym or describe the outcome you want.
- Example: If "Where do I "find" something" doesn't get a result, try "Where do I "view" something?"
Note: Small changes in how you phrase your search can lead to more accurate results.
AI‑generated search is designed to make finding answers faster and easier.
As you use it—and share feedback—it will continue to improve.
FAQs
Why Don't I See a Quick Answer?
Check your search query to ensure it's more than just one or two words, or try rephrasing it. Quick Answers are only generated when there's enough context to provide an answer.
What do I do when no Quick Answer is found?
Try rephrasing your search to get better results. For example, explain the specific outcome you're hoping to achieve with our tools. AI-Generated answers are only created based on our help content.
As much as we'd love to help you find the best pizza, you might have better luck elsewhere 😉.
AI-Assisted Chat vs. Search Results:
We provide both AI Search Results (Quick Answers) and AI-Assisted chat (found at the bottom right of every help center). Both are helpful. Here's how they differ and what each is best at.
AI-Search Results:
- Anonymous
- Feedback: Always provides a single, summarized answer.
- Better For: Quick task-focused guidance, with links to the best articles on the subject.
- Non-Conversational: Designed for a quick answer with links.
AI-Assisted Chat:
- Personalized: Requires name/email/organization (so we can route you to a real person or follow up via a ticket)
- Feedback: Responses are much more detailed.
- Better For: Comprehensive guidance, with less need to click into an article.
- Conversational: Allows you to ask follow-up questions.
